Leader RTV-2 liquid silicone rubber is an excellent, high-quality product for creating all types of molds. Whether you work with resin art, candles, soap, plastic, or gypsum, this silicone rubber will help you craft perfect molds with intricate, detailed designs.
Key Features:
• High Tear Resistance: Once cured, this silicone rubber becomes extremely flexible and strong, ensuring that molds do not tear easily and can be reused multiple times.
• High Detail Reproduction: This liquid silicone easily captures even the finest and most intricate details.
• Low Shrinkage: There is virtually no change in size after curing (≤0.3% shrinkage), ensuring your design remains perfect.
• Heat Resistance: It can withstand temperatures up to 200°C, making it ideal for use with resin and hot wax.
Package Includes:
• 1 kg Silicone Rubber Base
• 20g Hardener Liquid
How to Use:
1. Shake Well: Mix the liquid silicone thoroughly before use.
2. Ratio: Add 20 grams of hardener to 1 kilogram of silicone (i.e., 2% hardener). If preparing a smaller quantity, add 2% hardener accordingly.
3. Mixing: After adding the hardener, mix slowly for 2 to 3 minutes to minimize the formation of air bubbles. Ensure you mix thoroughly, reaching the corners and the bottom of the container.
4. Pouring: Pour the mixture over your model in a thin, steady stream from a single corner; this helps prevent air bubbles.
5. Curing Time: The mold is ready to be removed (demolded) after 6 to 8 hours, while it takes 24 hours to achieve a full cure (complete hardening).
Precautions:
• Amount of Hardener: Do not add more than 3% hardener; otherwise, the mold will become rigid and brittle (prone to breaking).
• Temperature: Using it at temperatures below 20°C will result in a longer drying time.
• Safety: Wear gloves during use, and protect your eyes and skin. Keep out of reach of children.
